The first unique work
After the first four shoots we paused. Not because anything had gone wrong — but so that Pete could be certain the concept really works.
The idea existed months ago, and so did the first shoots. But the path from the Polaroid series to the unique work was incredibly laborious, and for a long time it was open whether the resulting original could live up to his own standards at all.
Now it stands: the first unique work, framed and matted — and with it, the first series as a whole.
Some of you have asked why it took so long. This is the answer.
Pete is now starting on the second unique work. If that succeeds as well, things continue with what these weeks have taught — and with new shoots. Until then he is keeping his fingers crossed that the second turns out as well as this first one.
