The works page is live — a first, small part

As of today, the works page of TWO WAYS OF BEING REAL is live. Not finished. A beginning.

Two of the eight series are on view: the edition as a sequence of eight, the catalogue of copies, the way to the video work and the quote. Six places are still empty — deliberately. The project is designed for eight people, and the page shows exactly that: what is already there and what is still missing.

What is happening right now: the originals in emulsion technique are being made. It is the slowest part of the project, and it cannot be rushed — the Polaroid emulsion has a say in when it is done. More pictures from the sessions still have to be scanned. And not all sessions have taken place yet: two people are about to, and I am talking to more.

Why show it already? Because this project lives through the viewer. I did not want to wait until everything was perfectly tidied up and then present a finished wall. I would rather show the wall filling up.

On every series page you can leave a response — to the person portrayed, to me, or to both. I am interested in what a work stirs in you. Not in whether you like it.
